1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering on the Shivamogga Taxi website (shivamoggataxi.com), making a booking, or using our services in any form, you ("the Customer") agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions in full. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.
Shivamogga Taxi reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of our services after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
2. Booking & Confirmation
- Bookings can be made online via our website or by calling 7760898163.
- A booking is confirmed only after you receive a confirmation message or email with a Booking Reference ID (e.g. STX-XXXXXX).
- You must provide accurate pickup location, destination, date, time, and contact details.
- Shivamogga Taxi reserves the right to assign any available vehicle of equivalent category to your booking.
- Our team will assign a driver and vehicle after confirming the booking. The driver's contact number will be shared with you prior to trip start.
3. Fare & Billing Policy
⚠ Important: All customers must read and understand the billing policy before making a booking.
- Minimum 300 km per day: All trips are billed for a minimum of 300 km per day. Even if the actual distance travelled is less than 300 km, the customer will be charged for 300 km.
- One-Way Drop = Round Trip Fare: If a customer requests a one-way drop (e.g. Shivamogga to Udupi), the fare will be calculated as a round trip — i.e., actual km × 2 — because the driver must return empty. The 300 km minimum still applies.
- Multi-day trips: For trips spanning more than one day, 300 km minimum applies per day.
- Rate per km: Varies by vehicle type as displayed on our website and set by admin. Rates are subject to change without prior notice.
- Driver Allowance: A fixed driver allowance per day (as set by admin) is added to every trip. This is non-negotiable and non-refundable.
- Toll charges, parking fees, and state entry permits are NOT included in the fare. These are to be paid by the customer in cash at actuals.
- GST: Applicable GST (as per current government rates) will be added to the total fare and reflected in the invoice.
- Airport Fixed Rate: For airport transfer bookings, a fixed rate applies as set by admin. This is non-negotiable.
4. Night Charges
- Driver operating hours: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM (normal hours).
- 10:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight: An additional surcharge of ₹150 per hour (or as set by admin) will be charged for every hour the driver works after 10 PM.
- After 12:00 Midnight: A flat surcharge of ₹700 (or as set by admin) applies as a single charge for each occurrence of travel after midnight.
- Night charges are calculated and added to the final bill automatically based on the actual trip hours.
- Customers are advised to plan their travel to avoid night hours where possible.
5. Odometer & Distance Policy
To ensure accurate and transparent billing, Shivamogga Taxi follows a strict odometer-based billing system:
- The driver records the vehicle's odometer reading at the time of pickup (start odometer).
- The driver records the odometer reading again at the time of trip completion (end odometer).
- Total km billed = End Odometer − Start Odometer, subject to the 300 km/day minimum and round-trip rules above.
- If a customer requests detours (temples, shopping, sightseeing) during the trip, the additional km is included in the odometer-based calculation.
- The final bill is generated by the admin and made available in the customer's dashboard after the trip ends.
- Any dispute regarding odometer readings must be raised within 24 hours of receiving the invoice.
6. Payment Terms
- Online Payment (Razorpay): Payments made online via Razorpay are processed securely. Booking is confirmed upon successful payment.
- Cash Payment: Cash payment option is available if enabled by admin. The customer pays the driver in full at the completion of the trip.
- Advance Payment: For certain packages or airport transfers, advance payment may be required at the time of booking.
- Shivamogga Taxi is not responsible for any technical issues arising from the Razorpay payment gateway. For payment disputes, contact your bank or Razorpay.
- GST invoices are issued for all completed trips and available for download in the user dashboard.
7. Cancellation Policy
- Cancellations must be requested by calling 7760898163 before the driver is dispatched.
- Once the driver has been dispatched, a cancellation fee may apply.
- For online paid bookings cancelled before driver dispatch, a refund will be processed within 5–7 working days subject to Razorpay's refund policy.
- No-shows (customer not available at pickup location) are non-refundable and the booking will be treated as completed.
- Shivamogga Taxi reserves the right to cancel any booking in case of vehicle breakdown, driver unavailability, or force majeure events. A full refund will be provided in such cases.
8. Passenger Conduct
- Customers must treat drivers with respect. Abusive behaviour is grounds for termination of the trip without refund.
- Smoking is strictly prohibited in all vehicles.
- Maximum 2 large bags are permitted per booking. Excess baggage must be declared at the time of booking.
- Customers are responsible for any damage caused to the vehicle by their actions.
- The number of passengers must not exceed the vehicle's stated seating capacity.
- Pets are allowed only with prior notification and admin approval.
9. Liability
⚠ Shivamogga Taxi acts as a cab service provider. We are not liable for delays caused by traffic, weather, road conditions, acts of nature, or government restrictions.
- Shivamogga Taxi carries valid third-party insurance for all vehicles. In case of an accident, the insurance company's processes apply.
- Customers are advised to carry their own travel insurance for long-distance trips.
- We are not responsible for loss of personal belongings in the vehicle. Please check your belongings before exiting.
- Our maximum liability in any case shall not exceed the total fare paid for that specific trip.

- Razorpay: Online payments are processed by Razorpay. Shivamogga Taxi has no control over Razorpay's systems or policies.
- Google Maps: Map services are provided by Google. We have no control over map accuracy or availability.
- Any issues with third-party services should be resolved directly with the respective service provider.
Driver & Vehicle
Shivamogga Taxi employs licensed drivers with valid driving licences. However, we are not liable for accidents, injuries, delays, or losses arising from events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to traffic conditions, weather, road closures, mechanical breakdowns, or acts of God.
⚠ Customers are advised to wear seat belts at all times during travel. Shivamogga Taxi is not responsible for injuries arising from failure to follow safety guidelines.
